Director Profile:

Ding Haoran: born in 2001.02.13, currently studying at Hebei University-Central Lancashire College of Media and Creativity, majoring in drama, film and television literature. He has directed the short documentary "Ask Wing Chun", which has won awards at several international film festivals, and directed the martial arts drama short film "The Soul Returns Home", "The Cause of Death of the Hedgehog" as the second work of his drama short film.

Film synopsis:

The kind-hearted Jon and his wife were slandered by netizens due to an accident. Lady Lucy died in the accident. Jon committed suicide due to cyber-violence. The girl they took in, Chen Anna, sought the help of journalist Paul in order to help them restore the truth. Paul inadvertently angered Anna in the interview. Anna's emotional behavior plunged her into greater cyber-violence.

Director's Statement:

I hope to use Anna's experience to appeal to all online friends to stay calm and not use others as a tool to vent their emotions. By speaking with kindness, we can gently resolve the narrowness and noise brought about by this world. At the same time, I hope to express its true core through this story, which is blind, naive, and confident towards young people, who have no understanding of the darkness of society, and ultimately face the pain of society under their own naivety.

The film showcases the passage of time, the transformation of space, and the emotional changes of characters through the use of audio-visual language and montage techniques, showcasing a new generation of directors' pursuit of the film.
